The Hijacking of Our Collective Manifesting Power: How Modern Systems Shape Our Reality Without Our Consent
through the inorganic manufacturing of consumer or other demand
Since the movie The Secret came out, many of us have studied manifestation as if it was a solely thought-based phenomenon, believing that the Law of Attraction is the primary force shaping our reality. And while our thoughts, intentions, and emotions do create a powerful magnetic field, there is another influence operating quietly in the background: the Law of Supply & Demand. Together, these two laws (which the latter is merely an extension of the former) determine not just what we attract, but what the world reproduces around us.
But what if the desires that drive our collective demand are not truly our own? What if our wants, fears, cravings, and expectations have been shaped, not organically, but deliberately or for profit?
This article explores what happens when the collective desire of humanity has been quietly redirected. It addresses how unconscious demand is shaping a world that contradicts our deepest values. How can we reclaim our true desires and most powerful forms of spiritual sovereignty we have.
Because once we awaken to how our demand is shaped, we can finally reclaim the reality we are meant to co-create.
1. The Manifesting Power of Energetic Demand
Before we can understand how demand gets hijacked, we first need to understand what demand truly is. It is not just economic. It is not just about our power as consumers or financial transactions. It is not even just about money. Its about collective manifestation, because demand is energetic.
Demand (as part of a Supply and Demand model) is formed by what we give our attention to, what we emotionally reinforce, what we repeatedly choose, what we normalize, and what we quietly tolerate. It is shaped by our desires, our dependencies, our frustrations, our fears, and even our love of convenience. It whispers through clicks, purchases, subscriptions, habits, and reactions. It speaks through what we support, what we ignore, and what we become numb to.
In spiritual terms, demand is a collective frequency of desire sent into the field repeatedly until the universe responds, not just for one person, but for millions.
If people demand peace, peace begins to be supplied.
If people demand escapism, the world floods with entertainment and distraction.
If people demand numbness, industries arise that help people feel less.
If people demand awakening, wisdom becomes easier to access.
If people demand the artificial over life, life starts to be eclipsed.
Whatever humanity consistently and dominantly “asks” for (whether consciously or unconsciously) becomes supplied. Not because corporations decide it, but because our unconsciousness summoned it. This is Law of Attraction in action, in which action is stronger than thought and intention alone because action is thought and intention in motion. This is why we see such clear patterns in the world:
When people demand products from companies that pollute or commit injustices, pollution and injustice multiplies.
When people crave instant or artificial comforts, sugar-filled and heavily processed foods flood the market.
When people demand the centralization of power, power is more greatly supplied to those who can abuse it (because we prefer to avoid taking responsibility for it).
When people demand time savers or connivence to unwind (from working too hard and being constantly busy), they make purchases from less ethical companies that offer cheaper and more convenient alternatives than smaller, more ethical companies are able to.
When we demand faster shipping and delivery, we buy from companies that are monopolistic, putting smaller companies out of business.
When we encourage a culture where we leave reviews for everything we buy and have analytics on every platform we are part of, we create a supply where everyone is under scrutiny and anxious about likes and followers.
When we see relationships with others as something to commodify, our interactions become transactional.
The world is listening, always. Not only to what we say we want, but to what we demonstrate we want through habit, repetition, and focus. This is the unseen side of manifestation: It’s not just about what we dream, but what we maintain, what we repeat, and what we choose without question. All of this decides what the world keeps supplying.
2. When Demand Isn’t Truly Ours Because Our Desires Have Been Engineered
If the world supplies what humanity repeatedly demands, then we must ask a deeper, more uncomfortable questions.
A. What Happens When Our Demand is Not Truly Ours?
What happens when our desires are influenced, our fears amplified, our cravings conditioned, and our sense of “need” engineered by systems that profit from our confusion, disconnection, or dependence? What happens when laws are passed (with our consent) that enforce a certain type of demand, supply, or dependency?
Most people assume demand is natural and that we “just want what we want.” But modern culture is not neutral. It curates desire, amplifies insecurity, and sells solutions to problems it first creates. And slowly, we stop being choosers of reality and become consumers of suggestion.
B. What Happens When Industries Don’t Simply Respond to Demand but Create It?
Billions are spent on advertising campaigns and studying human psychology to trigger wanting, fear of missing out, fear of being left behind, and fear of not being seen, liked, or safe. This means that many desires do not originate in the heart. They are planted in our nervous systems.
C. What happens When Scarcity is Artificial?
Most modern scarcity is often manufactured:
Limited editions or sales to incite urgency.
“Only 3 left,” even when thousands are stocked.
Scheduled obsolescence to force repurchasing.
Scarcity doesn’t just sell products, it sells panic. And panic shifts demand dramatically.
D. What Happens When Distraction Becomes a Business Model?
If demand shapes collective reality, then controlling attention becomes extremely profitable. This is because attention drives demand. Demand drives supply. And, then, supply shapes reality. So, if attention can be fragmented, manipulated, or overstimulated, then desire can be misdirected, allowing our manifestation power (i.e., our power of demand) to become fractured.
We dream of peace but crave stimulation. We yearn for connection but spend more time scrolling than connecting. And we want freedom but keep buying our own chains.
E. What Happens When Convenience Becomes a Spell?
Convenience makes us choose without thinking. It bypasses intention and erases discernment. This is because when something is easy, we rarely ask: Is it aligned with my values? Does this reflect the world I want to help build? Who benefits when I choose this?
Convenience gently trains us to disengage from consciousness. And when consciousness is offline, so is sovereignty. And so, demand becomes hijacked. Not by evil forces or shadowy elites (who our demand to have “someone else” solve the problems of the world manifests their power), but by decades of conditioned thinking, emotional manipulation, social reward, convenience culture, survival anxiety, insecurity, and deeply embedded cultural programming.
We think we’re choosing, but we are often echoing what the world has told us we should want. And until we can see that clearly, our manifestation power remains partially outsourced. Not because we’ve lost it, but because we haven’t fully owned or taken responsibility for it.
3. When Demand Is Hijacked it Causes Our Reality To Be Manufactured Inorganically
If demand is shaped rather than chosen, then reality is, too. Not because humanity lacks creative power, but because our creative power has been redirected. To change this requires us to understand that most systems do not profit when people feel whole, connected, peaceful, or fulfilled. They profit when people feel:
uncertain
insecure
divided
overwhelmed
afraid of falling behind
always needing more.
And so, the modern world quietly rewards disconnection.
When people feel lonely, industries sell digital belonging.
When people feel anxious, industries sell numbing.
When people feel inadequate, industries sell identity.
When people feel powerless, industries bank on it through selling temporary solutions or ones that give themselves more power.
When people begin to awaken, industries sell “versions” of awakening that don’t threaten the system itself.
So the world doesn’t merely respond to demand, it benefits from shaping it.
Why does this work so well?
Hijacking our demand works well because the human nervous system is extremely receptive. We are wired to respond to emotional cues, social acceptance, belonging, safety, novelty, and fear. Industries don’t manipulate us by force. They simply tap into what most of us already want:
Connection → sold as attention
Freedom → sold as loneliness disguised as independence
Identity → sold as image
Security → sold as surveillance and control
Spiritual longing → sold as brands, products, slogans, and trends
The desire is rea, but the offering is counterfeit. And when we keep consuming counterfeits, we unknowingly keep demanding the very systems that withhold what we truly want. In spiritual terms, this is how collective manifestation gets distorted:
Our heart prays, but our habits protest.
Our spirit seeks wholeness, but our lifestyles reinforce separation consciousness.
The result? A world that mirrors our mixed intention: a little awakening mixed with a little illusion, a little love mixed with a little longing, and a little peace mixed with a little panic. This occurs not because our manifestation ability isn’t powerful, but because it has been fragmented.
And yet, this is not a failure, but a threshold, because now that we know this, we can begin to choose in ways we never could before.
4. The Spiritual Consequence of Hijacked Manifestation
When our desires are unconsciously shaped, our manifestation power is unintentionally redirected.
We may pray for peace, but habitually fuel systems built on division.
We may intend toward ecological harmony, but continually support convenience (at the hands of polluters and resource hogs) over sustainability.
We may seek spiritual clarity, but fill our days with distraction.
We may desire simplicity, but feel compelled to consume as the world tells us too.
This doesn’t make us hypocritical, but a little fragmented, a little lost, and a little cognitively dissonant. We are split between what we consciously intend and what we unconsciously reinforce. Manifestation is not just about what we think or feel. It is also:
what we fund,
what we normalize,
what we maintain,
what we support,
what we repeatedly engage with.
Our personal vibration influences our personal reality. But our collective vibration (expressed through choices, participation, and systems) is what shapes the world we all live in. This is why spiritual intention alone is no longer enough. We are now being called into spiritual participation, honoring a life where manifestation is not only internal, but embodied. We can stop outsourcing our desire to trends, ads, fear, and convenience and reclaim it as a sacred, sovereign force.
When demand is no longer hijacked, it becomes aligned. And aligned demand is the most powerful form of manifestation humans have. It doesn’t just change individual lives. It alters the supply of reality.
5. How to Reclaim Your Power of Demand Without Pressure, Guilt, or Perfection
Reclaiming your demand doesn’t mean throwing away your phone, moving off-grid, or trying to escape modern life. It simply means waking up to the extraordinary power you’ve always had, learning to use it consciously and wholeheartedly. It’s about becoming more conscious of what you are demanding at more subtle levels of the self.
Because demand isn’t just what you buy. It’s what you value, choose, share, normalize, and give your energy, time, attention, and trust to. So, to reclaim your demand, consider the below:
a. Notice What You Want and Ask Where That Want Came From
Pause before purchasing, subscribing, reacting, or supporting something. Then, ask, Is this desire arising from my heart? Or was it planted by fear, pressure, convenience, or comparison? The goal is not to judge the answer, only to become aware. Awareness is sovereignty.
b. Track What You Energetically Fund
Your energy is your currency. Where your attention goes, energy flows. And where energy flows, reality grows. So, ask, Does what I give my attention to (scrolling, shopping, worrying, defending( support the reality I actually want to live in? Demand is not just spending money. It is spending presence.
c. Shift From Automatic Choice to Conscious Choice
You don’t have to make a perfect choice, only a conscious one. So, instead of “I must eliminate all mainstream systems,” try “I will support something that reflects my values at least once today.” Small, consistent shifts create new energetic supply lines. And new supply lines birth new realities.
d. Exit the “Convenience Trance”
Convenience is not wrong. It only becomes harmful when it replaces consciousness. So, before choosing the easiest path, ask, Is this choice aligned or just easy? This tiny moment of awareness is how unconscious demand begins to dissolve.
e. Use Your Demand to Build What Doesn’t Exist Yet
When enough people choose the same value repeatedly, the world must supply it. Conscious demand doesn’t just respond to what is, but invites what could be. This is why movements begin with a shift in demand.
The truth is…
You don’t need to change the whole world. You only need to stop unconsciously feeding what hurts it.
You don’t need to do everything. You only need to do something, consciously, repeatedly, and with love.
Because as you reclaim your demand, you stop being a consumer and become a co-creator again.
When We Reclaim Demand, We Reclaim Destiny
We were never powerless. We were simply unaware of how powerful we already were. We didn’t understand that manifestation was never limited to vision boards, affirmations, or spiritual practice. It was also happening in every click, every purchase, every habit, every moment of attention. The universe has always been listening, not just to what we hoped for, but to what we repeatedly supported.
Demand is not just desire, but participation. Once we see that, things begin to change, not through guilt, pressure, or perfection, but through conscious choice. We begin choosing not just what is easy, but what is aligned; not just what is offered, but what is worthy; not just what is supplied, but what is sacred. And when enough people do this in small, loving, imperfect ways, a new kind of demand emerges.
A demand for wholeness instead of numbness.
A demand for wisdom instead of distraction.
A demand for connection instead of imitation.
A demand for systems that honor life, rather than extract from it.
And because the world cannot help but respond to demand, these choices (quiet, consistent, and intentional) begin to rewire our reality. This is how new paradigms are born. They are not born from escape or outrage, but from conscious participation. Because the moment humanity reclaims its demand, it reclaims its destiny.
